I am a PhD candidate at Stockholm University (DSV) where I do research on how information and communication technology (ICT) and mobile phones in particular, can improve transparency, accountability and participation in democratic processes. For the past three years I have been mapping, following and analysing mobile interventions in the good governance field, mostly in East Africa but with special focus on Uganda.
My ambition is to publish most of my academic and consultancy work here.
Besides the PhD I also run the company UPGRAID that mainly undertakes consultancies in ICT4D. During my PhD studies I’ve been working for Spider as M4D (mobiles for technology) advisor and I prior the studies, I worked as an ICT4D Advisor at the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sida, and at the Uppsala Centre for Sustainable Development. I am currently based in Sweden but try to be in East Africa as much as possible (where I have studied and worked for more than nine years).
